Coinciding with the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the race offers a picturesque course that provides a running tour of monuments and sights of D.C., which at this time of year is adorned with the breathtaking bloom of cherry trees. Since its inception in 1973, the event has grown in prominence, revered not only for its natural beauty but also for its flat, fast course that often leads to personal bests.
The race has become so popular that registration is handled through a lottery system, and like in 2024, can sell out quickly. We’re looking for RW+ members with various running experiences who would like to race the Janet Hiller from northern Maryland and are ready to take on an eight-week training plan with us.
