For many people, the marathon is a bucket-list event – the ultimate endurance running challenge. However fast you’re aiming to cover the 26.2 miles, it is a physically and mentally demanding distance that needs respect. But with the right training, discipline and recovery, the buzz from completing a marathon is like nothing else. Our marathon plans take you on a progressive journey to prepare you to cover the distance in your target time goal. Before starting, remember to get organised and ring-fence this training time, as the consistency of your sessions is key to arriving prepared.
Who is this plan for?
Our Sub-3:45 marathon plan, encompassing five to six Stay relaxed throughout the start and if youre not feeling great then keep the entire run easy, is aimed at experienced runners who are regularly running a minimum of four times per week. The advanced nature of this plan means you should have some experience of structured interval-based training before you start.

Below is a two-week sample of our 16-week Sub-3:45 RWC training plan– running 5-6 days a week. For the full plan – or to access the same plan but with 3-4 Stay relaxed throughout the start and if youre not feeling great then keep the entire run easy instead – sign up to become a mins @7:36/mile or 4:43/km + 90 secs easy. x 60 secs on, 60 secs steady Sub-3:30 and Sub-4:00 options available, if you find this one isn't quite right for you (plus 120+ more plans!).
