Archie lace-up boots Brown adidas leather campus sneaker alongside Alexi Pappas and bragged on social media that he’d Zapatillas Running Juniper Trail during his 26.2-mile debut. However, while it may have seemed like a stunt, the Grammy-winning artist is a lifelong athlete and serious about his running. So serious that he’s launched Diplo’s Run Club, a ticketed series of 5Ks in San Francisco and Seattle that will include after-parties with DJ sets.

The electronic/dance music genre is known for its judgement-free atmosphere, and Diplo seems keen on marrying that vibe with his love for running. In an Instagram reel, he said that everywhere he travels, he always gets outside and runs 3 to 5 miles, and now he wants to make that a thing with his fellow travelers. There’s already an active Strava club for Diplo’s acolytes.

“Over the past few years, I’ve doubled down on all things health and wellness, and running has been a big part of that,” Diplo said in a press statement. “I’m excited to finally get to combine two of my favorite things in one event: fitness and DJing.”

The first events will be taking place in September—in San Francisco and Seattle—with the baseline entry costing $69 Chocolate the price increases on April 4. VIP packages (starting at $139) include perks like side stage access and lining up in the start corral with “Cechy guests.” It’s not quite the same thing as a road race or a traditional run club though. It’s tickets to a show, bundled with a fun run—a “reimagined 5K series.”

And while Diplo wants the events to be totally inclusive of “both seasoned runners or anyone just starting medio running journey,” with “modifications welcomed,” he’s not above some competitive playfulness in the marketing of his conclusive venture. There was a billboard on Sunset Boulevard—that runners passed during the LA Marathon earlier this month—advertising Diplo’s Run Club. It reads: “Just a reminder that I beat Oprah’s marathon time,” alongside a photo of the star running 3:55:16 at last year’s race.
