We put thousands of miles on new shoe models, accelerate wear and tear on running shorts, put snow cleats to work—the list goes on! Depending on the product, we’ll even stretch it, drop it, or heat it up to make sure it stands up to real life.
As part of that testing—here’s where you come in—we invite a select group of Runner’s World+ members to use the product themselves, run it a ton, and, as a group, report on how the item performed in a variety of conditions. After all that, we make our final selection of the best products to recommend to our readers.

I’m a Runner’s World+ member, and I have applied for the program. How do I know if I’ve been selected to test a product?
When you’re selected for a study, you’ll receive an e-mail confirming your participation and providing information about when you should expect your product to arrive in the mail.

Runner’s World’s field testers are often the first people to try new products—shoes, apparel, headphones, winter gear, and more—and your feedback might even show up in our trusted product reviews or in our magazine, along with expert evaluations from the Runner’s World’s Test Team.
We can’t wait to hear what you think of the products we send you. But first, you must become a Runner’s World+ member. Several weeks after you sign up for Runner’s World+, you’ll receive an e-mail invitation to activate your tester profile. After activating your profile, you’ll be eligible for selection and participation.
