How to Size Inline Skates
If you're ready to "roll" this summer but don't know which size inline skates to buy, start by learning the basics of how inline skate sizing works. With so many brands to choose from and slightly different sizing options, it can be difficult to know exactly which size to purchase. We'll cover inline skate sizing basics for the top three inline skating brands: K2, Rollerblade Inc., and Bauer. With our inline skates sizing guide, you'll know whether to size up or down as well as other basics to get you the most comfortable inline skates for your feet!
K2 Inline Skate Sizing
K2 inline skates should fit similar to your everyday shoe size. It can take 3-6 times wearing them to fully break in your K2 inline skates, but once they have molded to your foot shape, they will be extremely comfortable! K2 inline skates offer options for both recreational and professional inline skaters. If you’re an athlete looking for a high-end model inline skate, you can size down a ½ size for a snugger fit which can lead to improved performance.
Rollerblade Inc. Sizing
Rollerblade Inc. skates also fit similar to your everyday shoe size with the exception of the Twister and Maxxum models. If you buy either of these models, it is recommended to go with a full size larger than your regular shoe size. Take note that all kids’ Rollerblade Inc. skates come with an expandable shell that can increase 4 sizes for growing feet. Since the sizing is so different with expandable shells, we recommend you refer to the information on the product page to find the correct size.
Bauer Inline Skate Sizing
If you’re looking into Bauer inline skates, it’s worth noting that most run about 1.5 sizes smaller than your regular shoe size, so it’s best to size up. We recommend double-checking your regular shoe size with a pair of dress shoes or another pair of tight-fitting shoes to best replicate the snug fit you want in your Bauer inline skates. Once you have verified your shoe size, go up 1-1.5 sizes when ordering your inline skates.
