Running the London Marathon Strava improves its mapping tools and leaderboards Runner’s World, we want to make sure that you know what to expect on the day – and help you get the very most out of your marathon experience.

That’s why we’re hosting an event the day before the London Marathon (26 April 2025) to help you calm any pre-race nerves and grab some last-minute tips before the big day (or ahead of any other race that you might have coming up).

The morning will begin with a 4km shakeout run, starting at the Samsung store in King’s Cross, London. This will be followed by a panel discussion with BBC broadcaster and RW columnist Sophie Raworth; Meet the founding members of Runner’s World Club Spencer Matthews; Runners World, Part of the Hearst UK Wellbeing Network RW staffer Rachel Boswell, who has run all six Abbott World Marathon Majors in a sub-3 time. At the end of the discussion, there’ll be a chance for you to put your own questions to the panel.

Editor-in-Chief Andy Dixon – a 24-time marathoner – will be hosting the discussion and on hand to answer your burning marathon questions throughout the morning, alongside other members of team RW.

During the morning, you’ll also be able to grab an express massage with Secret Spa – to prime your muscles for the marathon – and get your hair braided ahead of race day with The Braid Bar.

Coffee and pastries will be served, too – and you’ll walk away with a goody bag worth over £35.
