• Strava have today announced a #StatMaps feature that will change the appearance of activity maps on the platform.
  • When applied, the new feature will replace the standard orange polyline currently used in activity maps.

The world's largest sports participation platform, Strava, has today announced their latest innovation, with the launch of #StatMaps. According to Strava, #StatMaps will allow runners to ' display the visualisation of their activities through a data-driven polyline colour'.

A feature currently only available to Strava subscribers, athletes will be able to choose between various hashtags when completing their activity. On adding these to the title or description of the run or ride, the specific data stream type from the activity will be picked up as a source of data values, which each data stream type having a distinct colour.
