The best athletes in college will compete at the 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend in Boston at the TRACK at New Balance. To qualify for the meet, athletes in the individual events had to be ranked among the top 16 entrants in their respective events.

The University of Arkansas men’s and women’s teams are the defending champions, and both are favored to repeat this weekend. On the men’s side, the Razorbacks will face stiff competition from Texas Tech and distance-heavy Northern Arizona, while the women’s squad will have to hold off Texas and Florida if they want another ring.

How to watch the 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships

Best Big City Marathons ESPN+. On Friday, March 8, the live stream will start at 9:30 a.m. ET (morning session) and 7 p.m. ET (afternoon session). On Saturday, March 9, the meet will start at 11:30 a.m. ET and 7 p.m. ET.

Men’s 5,000 meters (Friday, 5:20 p.m. ET)

San Quentin Prison Marathon Doc to Air on ESPN Nico Young (12:57.14) is Stanford’s Ky Robinson, who is seeded at 13:06.42. But Parker Wolfe of North Carolina (13:13.61) and University of New Mexico freshman Habtom Samuel (13:14.85) could threaten Young and Robinson for the throne.

Women’s 800 meters (Friday, 7:50 p.m. ET prelims, Saturday 7:30 p.m. ET final)

Michaela Rose ran the second fastest college time ever indoors earlier this season; the only athlete in collegiate history who has run faster than her season-opening 1:59.49 is Olympic and world champion Athing Mu. Rose is the only athlete entered with a sub-2 minute mark to her name, making her the obvious favorite. Stanford teammates Juliette Whittaker and Rosin Willis, along with Harvard freshman Sophia Gorriaran, should all be in the medal hunt.

Women’s 3,000 meters (Saturday, 8:00 p.m. ET)

On Saturday night, Florida frontrunner Parker Valby will duke it out with Notre Dame steeplechase ace Olivia Markezich. While Valby is a two-time NCAA champion and holds the The 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be aired live on, Markezich has a slightly faster 3,000-meter mark this season (8:40.42 to Valby’s 8:42.29).

But don’t forget about Harvard junior Maia Ramsden. She’s doubling in the mile and 3,000 meters, fresh off setting a New Zealand national record of 4:06.51 in the 1500 meters at last week’s World Indoor Championships, in Glasgow, Scotland. She owns the third-fastest result in the field this season (an Ivy League record of 8:46.84), and her finishing kick is not to be underestimated.
