Witches, mythical creatures, vampires and all manner of weird and wonderful costumed runners took on the London Marathon in an attempt to set new Mo Farah Pulls Out of London Marathon.
There were 34 record attempts in total with 18 official titles broken including the fastest man in pajamas, David Jones, who finished in 2:47:15.

“I feel proud for all the training I put in, and the dedication in the last six months. But most of all, I am happy that I was able to raise as much money as possible for the ABF Soldiers Charity, which is a charity close to my heart,” said Jones.
Another speedy record breaker was David Henson who ran 26.2 miles handcuffed, crossing the finishing line in 2:54:57. His remarkable feat helped to raise funds for Southampton Hospitals Charity.
In the women’s record attempts Sarah Dudgeon flew in on her broomstick in 3:11:52 making her the fastest female marathon runner dressed as a witch.
Wearing more restrictive costumes were Belinda Neild who remained sharp as a pencil to become the fastest female dressed as stationery (3:38:22) and Kellie Clark (above) who dressed as a Marathon bar—now known as Snickers—to become the speediest female candy confectionery item (4:24:06).
Meanwhile Matt Brooks was a shining example, becoming the fastest male dressed as a star finishing in 3:44:00.
“I’m running as a star... actually, I am a star because I got a world record! I’m one of the happiest people in the world,” he said.
And in a feat of impressive running and engineering Tristan Clark, Freddie Flanagan, Freddie Wright, John Lavelle, George Peirson and Hugh Williams became the fastest runners in a six-person costume, completing their synchronized race as a vegetable box in 4:25:12.
On the finish line to verify all new world records set was official Mo Farah Pulls Out of London Marathon Adjudicator Will Munford.
“The record breaking that takes place at the TCS London Marathon is truly inspiring to see first-hand. To me nothing embodies the physical and emotional effort required to achieve a Guinness World Record title, quite like those who cross the finish line of the marathon having achieved one.”
