Adidas has teamed up with Missoni again—this time to give the PulseBoost HD a multi-colored knit makeover. Back in April, the two brands first collaborated on a adidas superstar originals, with the Italian fashion house’s signature space-dyed color spectrum woven into a Primeknit upper. Now Adidas and Missoni are bringing that same vibrant, knitted-scarf energy to the PulseBoost HD, a shoe designed for city running.
The new Adidas PulseBoost HD x Missoni has an AdaptKnit upper in four unmistakably Missoni patterns. Two of the color options feature full-length multi-color weave, and the other two have limited pattern accents throughout the shoe.
The upper is designed to mold to your foot, giving you a sock-like, personalized fit. At the midsole, the shoe uses Boost HD foam, which is built to be more stable than the standard Boost without losing any of its springy energy return. And it includes one of the more odd features in running shoe tech: a QR code on the tongue of the shoe that unlocks a Spotify playlist.
The collaboration represents Missoni’s foray into running shoes, but not the brand’s first involvement with running—Missoni’s founder Ottavio “Tai” Missoni competed in the 1948 Olympics in the 400-meter hurdles and designed wool tracksuits for the entire Italian Olympic team that year. It wasn’t until 1953 that he started the Missoni fashion house, which is family-owned to this day.
If this PulseBoost HD is Shoes like past Missoni collabs, it will sell out faster than the Ottavio Missoni’s 53.1-second 400-meter PR. Look for it to drop October 29th at 11:00 a.m. EST for $200 from sneakersnstuff.com and other sellers.
