My name is Luka Jezovšek, I am 30 years old and I come from Slovenias heartland, the capitol city Ljubljana, to be precise.
I started fishing at very young age. That comes as no surprise, seeing how most of my family members were fishermen. At the age ob 8 I tied my first fly and cought a beutiful brown trout with it. Since than, I cannot imagine my life without fishing or tying flies.
My fly fishing path brought me the Junior National championship title in the year 2011. Around that time I started taking tying flies more seriously. My love for fishing took me to a professional level as well – I now own and run a fishing gear store where I sell handmade flies and other lures of my design and other equipment as well.
What still brings me the most joy, is tying flies, my favourite being the Slovenian Sedge. I am also happy to be able to make streamers form scratch, because I also make my own lead jig hooks.
Obviously my favourite type of fishing is fly fishing for trout and grayling, but I do enjoy fishing for pike and the Danube almon (hucho hucho) as well.
My greatest joy are my children and I'm always happy to see my six year old son show his potential for tying flies. He's been following me around since he was only three.
Winning DRY FLY category of the 17th GERMAN OPEN FLY TYING CHAMPIONSHIP last year was an amazing moment for me, because it gives me the chance to introduce myself and tie my flies in the 20th EWF as well. Looking forward to meeting you.
