From crafts and art to fishing tackle for your next fishing trip

There is plenty to discover at the exhibitors’ stands once again: from fine craftsmanship and all manner of art relating to fly fishing to the right fishing tackle and equipment. The selection ranges from outdoor clothing, waders and footwear to rods, reels, essential accessories and additional kit. Once again, you can search and choose exactly what you’re looking for, or simply let yourself be inspired. Either way, make sure you allow plenty of time to browse and have a chat with the experts!

Fly tying, casting demos, lectures, workshops and programmes for beginners and women

Once again 12 casters will be showcasing their skills by the pool and inspiring visitors to refine their own casting technique. The EWF is particularly delighted that Miren Loops from Spain will be making another attempt. After the Lufthansa strike made it impossible for her to travel to the last EWF, we are now keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly this time and that we can welcome Miren in person at the casting pool. René Gerken, the Danish FFI instructor, will also be at the casting pool. More casters to be announced shortly.

A number of women will be taking part in fly tying and casting once again. And the women’s programme enters its second round with Lucinda Ewin, who made her debut at the last EWF and was met with great enthusiasm straight away.

The international contingent of fly tiers is also growing. Tiers from Italy, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, the UK and the USA have already confirmed their attendance.

The various lectures will cover everything from fishing opportunities on local waters to trips to other regions, from fishing with single-handed or double-handed rods, through salmon and sea trout fishing and Arctic char, right through to saltwater fly fishing.

Invitation to all fishing club youth groups interested in fly fishing
Under the slogan ‘Youth at the EWF’, the EWF warmly welcomes interested youth coordinator and their groups. Bring the youngsters along, make a club outing of the EWF and discover together just how much fun fly fishing, casting and fly tying can be!

Children and young people up to and including the age of 18 will be granted free entry upon presentation of proof of club membership, and of course their accompanying youth coordinators. Clubs are responsible for organising their own travel and the trip itself. Whether it is a small group or a large club outing: please do get in touch with the EWF in advance!

This is just a taster of the 22nd EWF, which will open its doors again on 10 and 11 April 2027. We will be introducing more names, offers and programme highlights to you bit by bit. Until then, we will continue to plan, fine-tune and organise so that everyone can discover, try out and experience plenty at the EWF once again! We are already looking forward to your visit!
