Our youngest fly tyer ever, Arthur Mühling from Germany, is taking to the EWF stage. He is been fishing for ages, but fly fishing and fly tying for less than ten years. Despite this, this young talent managed to win first place in the dry fly category at the German Open Fly Tying Championship in 2025. We are incredibly excited to have this up-and-coming fly tyer with us!
Fishing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. At 13, I discovered my fascination with fly fishing and fly tying. My first attempts at the vise soon followed. Since then, I have pursued this hobby with the same enthusiasm as at the beginning.
I am particularly drawn to tying dry flies and striving to tie them as perfectly as possible. What is special about fly tying for me is the meditative state it brings. My greatest achievement was winning first place in the dry fly category at the 18th German Fly Tying Championship. I am very grateful for the opportunity to compare myself to and exchange ideas with fly tiers from all over the world.
