Dear friends of the EWF and of fine taste,
This year, on the occasion of the EWF, we are pleased to present the 17 th edition of the traditional whisky from the exclusive "Classic Salmon Flies" series. This whisky comes from the Speyside distillery Tamnavulin. Aged 11 years, it originates from casks 373078 and 800100, which were filled for the independent bottler James Eadie Ltd. This is a small-batch bottling from just two casks. The initial maturation in a classic refill butt was complemented by a finish in a refill Bual Madeira hogshead. This combination results in a blend of fruity-sweet wine notes and typical Speyside malt character.
Tamnavilin is an approachable, fruity-sweet Speyside malt with a distinct Madeira cask influence. The refill casks ensure that the wine aromas remain elegant and don't become overpowering. Typical notes include dried fruit, honey, toffee, and warm baking spices. The whisky is non-chill filtered and contains no added colouring.
The fly "The Green Parson" was tied by Håkan Karsnäser on an Ahrex HR413 Classic single hook, size 1/0.
