Kid’s Programme
EWF 2026
1. Fly Tying
For our younger visitors, we are once again offering our traditional fly-tying for children and teenagers at the EWF. Here you can tie flies to your heart's content and invent new patterns!
Fly tying competition:
Competition will be in two age groups:
- Ages 12 and under
- Ages 13 - 16
Tying Time for the competition:
Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm
Sunday, 9 am – 1:30 pm
Prices:
The best tyers will receive certificates and special prizes.
Rules:
- We have enough material that can be used for tying, thus, please do not bring your own.
- The competition fly should be tied without much outside help. (We will of course still assist with the head knot and smaller insecurities.)
Evaluation and Price Awarding:
An on-site jury will judge the flies. The evaluation of the flies and the subsequent awarding of the prices will take place on Sunday at 3 pm at the fly tying table for children and teenagers. Winners who are not present at that time will be notified in writing.

2. Casting
Dear young fly fishers, the casting programme will be available for you again.

It doesn't matter whether you have cast a fly rod before or not! The instructors show you how to handle the fly fishing tackle and give tips and suggestions.
We will again have set times for them at the second casting pool. Those times are
Saturday and Sunday
- 11:00 - 11:30 pm
- 2:00 - 2:30 pm
- 3:30 - 4:00 pm
