Eberhard Scheibe

Caster 2026

My name is Eberhard Scheibe, I was born in 1954, and I have been fishing for almost 60 years.

Fly fishing, that is, fishing with artificial flies, has taught me to be and remain curious. There is a certain magic to it – whether you are using a reel or not.

For the past 15 years, I have practiced Tenkara fishing, the original way of fly fishing. With just a rod, line, and a simple wet fly, I travel light to the water – mostly streams and small rivers.

It is fantastic to catch a fish in overlooked or "missed" spots.

My Tenkara teacher says, "Wherever a trout might be hiding, there's usually one there." That is my motivation for fly fishing.

I tie my own Tenkara flies. A simple fly isn't concerned with aesthetics. It has to be durable and can even have a slightly rough look. I am delighted to be able to present this highly interesting type of fly fishing, which does not seem to fit into all the norms.
