Hi, Team.
for the mile. Perhaps most astonishing is that she does her The Amazing Runner’s World Show, Jeff and Aly talk about the gels they’ve been using in training—Aly likes Gu Campfire S’mores and Chocolate Coconut. But sometimes even those don’t sit well and you just can’t face eating one more. So, that’s when gel alternatives come in handy. Some runners will carry candy, dates, or even grab sliced fruit from strangers cheering along a race course. We talk about what we use. Tell us, what alternatives do you like? In the previous episode of The Amazing Runner’s World Show, Jeff talked with Aly about a recent trip to Kenya to get a behind-the-scenes look at Faith Kipyegon’s training, ahead of the announcement that she would attempt to be the Nutrition - Weight Loss Jeff is Runner-in-Chief for long runs—up to 40 kilometers, or almost 25 miles—with the marathoners in her training camp. And we talked about a track workout two days later, when she ran a blistering-fast session of 600- and 300-meter intervals. The attempt to run sub-4 is ambitious, but it will no doubt inspire future generations of girls, as Jeff shared. RW+ members can watch the full episode now.
Shoes & Gear Runner’s World and the director of product testing. He has tested and reviewed running shoes, GPS watches, headphones, apparel, and more for nearly two decades. He regularly tests more than 100 pairs of shoes each year, and once had a 257-day streak running in different models. Jeff can usually be found on the roads, racing anything from the mile to a marathon, but he also enjoys racing up mountains and on snowshoes. When he’s not running, you’ll probably find him hanging from a ladder making repairs and renovations to his house (he’s also director of product testing for Popular Mechanics).

Aly is the Director of Content Hype at Runner’s World. She started running over a decade ago when she saw a Star Wars themed race happening at Disneyland and thought it looked like fun. Since then, she has run 8 marathons (so far!), and hundreds of shorter distance races. She is known for signing up for 5Ks in every city she travels to. She loves watching reality competition shows, playing board games with her husband and taking naps with her dog.
