Abbey D'Agostino at Olympics

Mark Coogan was in the front row of the Olympic Stadium for the first-round heats of the women’s 5,000 meters, on the homestretch at about the 100-meter starting line. So he was across the track when his athlete in the second heat, Abbey D’Agostino, got  Berlin Marathon Results of New Zealand and fell hard.

He wasn’t surprised to see D’Agostino turn and help the other athlete to her feet. “Honestly, I think that was my favorite moment in the Olympics,” he said.

When he spoke to Runner’s World, Coogan was awaiting results of an MRI on D’Agostino’s right knee. He was able to see her immediately after the race, and he said she was in “great spirits,” he said. “She was very happy to be here and she knows she is in good hands.”
