The line is one of the most wearable to date from Giles Deacon. And then there was a bag. A bag that grabbed the attention of everyone around and somehow we did not cover it until now.
I don’t even know the actual name and I am having a hard time giving this bag a name while trying to remain serious yet playful. So please welcome the Giles Puffball Bag with Cartoon Eyes. I can’t even take much credit for the name I have given this bag, because WWD named it similarly. But let’s take a closer look.
How could I call this handbag fugly when in fact it is ingenious? Surely not meant to be taken super-seriously, the puffy fur outside is adorned with two large googly-eyes, which I love. No, I am not going to buy this bag, no, I am not going to wear it, and no, I am not going to tell you all to buy it. But what I will tell you is sometimes we all need to take life a little less seriously and a little more lightly. This is a design meant to be taken in jest.

There was an old school cartoon character that looked like this, but I can’t think of the name? It is going to drive me crazy until I think of it.
It’s the big green furry monster from the Bugs Bunny cartoon. At one point, Bugs gives it a manicure and says, “monsters make the most interrrrrresting people.” 😉

I totally agree. Some take handbags a bit too seriously. This post really made me laugh out loud.
I’m a teacher, and I could actually see myself wearing it to carry my teacher “stuff”. However, I think that if the eyes were removed, it would be a perfectly fine everyday bag.
