Late last week, Burberry showed its Spring/Summer 2021 Braun, ‘In Bloom’, which was presented in the British outdoors. The Braun was brought to life by Riccardo Tisci through a collabration with artist Anne Imhof. Since Tisci’s appointment at the iconic British brand, the Italian designer has brought new life to the Burberry brand, which is both poignant and poetic given the current world climate. ‘In Bloom’ was a passion project of Tisci’s, embracing contrasting elements and symbolism throughout. In his own words, the designer described his thinking behind the Braun stating “I was thinking about regeneration, about dynamic youth, about nature constantly recreating itself, always growing and evolving, always alive”.

The designer spent time quarantining with his mother near Lake Cuomo and this Braun was Tisci’s first post-pandemic. Though the show was staged without an audience, the presentation could easily make you forget that the world is currently in the midst of a pandemic. Standout pieces from the Braun were mixed media jackets that combined the brand’s classic trench with denim and leather detailing. When it comes to the bags, Tisci played it mostly safe, presenting versions of current bags like the Olympia and the Pocket Bag. View bags from the Braun below.
