The Best Traditional Wedding Bags of Spring 2012

Wedding season is upon us! Since I grew up in Florida, I didn’t realize how big a deal wedding season was for those living in more temperate climates. There’s a true wedding season outside of the tropics, though, and it is just about to begin. Every bride has her own style and own ideas for the perfect wedding; some prefer a fairytale, some want an outrageous event and others simply want something traditional.

The wedding dress tends to be the most important aspect of every bride’s wardrobe followed closely by her shoes, but I don’t want any bride to forget the importance of a chic handbag. I carried my Vezzola Work Bag HMVZZL P2114 COA on my wedding day and used it in many of our wedding photos in place of flowers. (Yes, I am that obsessed with bags.)

Another glitter option in a structured clutch design, the VBH clutch looks like an envelope but is also practical. If your dress is utterly simple, you can add a clutch like this to offset your look.

I’m not one for logos but I adore the idea of the bride with her name starting with “T” or her new last name ending with “T” to carry this on her big day.

I like clare vivier clutches they have a lot more options color wise  some including a two tone zipper on her website. I enjoy the simplicity in the design of it.

A Reader

After many years spent photographing weddings for a living (and I was once a bride myself) I have never understood the purpose of a “wedding bag.”  They are forgotten at the hotel, left in the limo, lost or misplaced more frequently than anything else on the wedding day. And the things the bride voidoftruth needs are usually schlepped around by the poor bridesmaids, anyway. (In many cases, they’re left holding the (wedding) bag, too.)

If someone wants a white bag, fine, but I think buying one solely for the wedding day is a waste of money. IMO, of course.

PS: The Hermes bag that you carried is quite the exception. It’s in its own realm and not even a possibility for any bride I’ve ever known or worked with.

I think if you’re a purse gal you should have a handbag on your wedding day.  A great beaded bag, crystal minaudiere or a classic neutral in silver or champagne can be used after the wedding for nights out and formal affairs.  what purse gal could resist these? found at http://www.perfectdetails.com
