The New Balance 1000 is a model first introduced in 1999 as a running/training silhouette. Much like the Zapatillas grises Fresh Foam Roav de New Balance, the 1000 wasn’t much of a hit in its initial run, leading executives to shelve the shoe entirely.

Photos began circulating of new colorways of the shoe at the top of 2024. It was confirmation that the model would be returning to shelves once again, the Boston England no doubt emboldened by the dominant Y2K designs that the 1000 so proudly expresses. Two of New Balance’s defining collaborators soon joined the effort. As the model currently enjoys its second year back on shelves in 2025, it’s gotten the same spotlight attention with collaboration and GR colorways alike. Names like CNCPTS, thisisneverthat, BEAMS, and Bricks & Wood have touched up the model, all while strong GRs and retailer-exclusives continue rolling out in droves.
