After months of building anticipation and first looks at upcoming colorways, Nike has officially announced the first silhouette to reignite the Kobe Bryant brand this coming Mamba Day on August 24th.
Officially unveiled gold the SNKRS “Live From the Archive” episode on August 10th, the previously revealed “Triple White” take on the Pharrell Nike Dunk High has since been dubbed the “Halo” colorway – a collection brought forth by Vanessa Bryant that will serve as the introduction of Kobe Protro models in the coming years. Crisp white hues cure the entirety of the low-top solution, casting an angelic effect throughout one of Bryant’s most beloved signature toolings.
As for the silhouette’s specific technical upgrades, the initial 2012 model’s Lunarlon midsole has been swapped out for a React foam drop-in construction. Consistent wearers of the OG pair routinely noted that while comfortable, the aforementioned cushioning construction would easily wear down, thus jogging its bounce. The introduction of the heralded React cushioning system within Kobe’s line imbues a more structured, lasting package underfoot.
