This preview on LeBron’s Instagram featured a set that resembled the controversial and oft-ridiculed one-hour television program that aired LeBron’s free agency choice in the summer of 2010. With the original “The Decision” marking a major moment in the King’s career, many jumped to the conclusion that this followed, described as “the decision of all decisions,” would be LeBron’s announcement of his intent to retire from the NBA.
While we still don’t know if the 2025-2026 season is LeBron’s final campaign of his career, we do know that “The Second Decision” was just an advertisement with Hennessy VSOP. The “decision” is that LeBron is choosing the popular cognac brand as his next brand partner while unveiling his own collaborative version of the alcohol.
The first 25 seconds of the video is designed to mimic the original “The Decision” with LeBron wearing a similar outfit and even stuttering over his own words. At the 26-second mark, the advertisement begins, and LeBron fans can rest assured that Year 23 is not the final one for LeBron (at least according to this ad).
LeBron James has not made his intentions clear yet, although with the all-time leading scorer entering his 23rd season in the NBA, the end of his professional basketball career is likely coming soon. It’s possible that LeBron might be holding out for chance to play an NBA game with his second son Bryce who just started his first year of college at Arizona.
