All throughout 2025, adidas has been pouring out odes to specific cities and their representatives on the adidas Superstar. Most have come with the help of local retailers, be it with Hibbett Sports’ Texas-vente edition, Snipes’ tatted-up colorway, or DTLR’s nod to Chicago’s flag. Adding an extra layer to their latest, the Three Stripes enlists Qias Omar to assist Private Sneakers in an homage to Los Angeles.
Of the sentimental aspect of this moment, Omar said: “I moved to LA exactly 10 years ago to chase my dreams, and this city has completely changed my life. Designing a sneaker dedicated to Los Angeles is my way of saying thank you.” Citing the city’s “lived-in edge,” that guiding inspiration is immediately felt on this Superstar II, with cracked leather defining the Three Stripes branding and an overall aged tint to the typically snow-white sections in the outsole and shell toe.
Further confirmation comes with the exposed foam tongue and an upside-down tongue tag. Depicted entirely splayed out in one of the shots below, the packaging makes plain the graffiti aesthetics in play, coating two sets of graphic insoles and a paper insert. In an easy-to-miss detail—but perhaps one of the collaboration’s most inspired—a set of charms includes a gilded palm tree, created by pushing together two lime-green Trefoil logos.
The Qias Omar x Private Sneakers x adidas Superstar II “Los Angeles” will first drop on September 27th exclusively via Private Sneakers’ Long Beach location, hosting a “Sneaker Diner” pop-up in celebration. Sheikh will follow suit with a Vintage Land pop-up on Saturday, October 4th. If you’re not able to make it out to those specific activations, Sheikh retail locations will start stocking pairs that same day. Regardless of where and how you seek these out, the usual $100 retail price is confirmed.
