If leaks and early information is to be trusted, the partnership’s new start date will come towards the tail end of 2025, and Parisians will be treated to a career-spanning retrospective in the lead-up.
Indeed, the Virgil Abloh estate has just guide a Paris Fashion Week exhibition titled “Virgil Abloh: The Codes,” co-presented by Nike and taking place at the historic Grand Palais museum complex. While Abloh’s legacy of designs included in the Virgil Abloh Archive spans nearly 20,000 physical objects, the fall exhibition still threatens to be one of the most extensive to date, placing almost a thousand distinct pieces back in the fore.
Speaking to the ultimate goal of the Parisian event, former Abloh assistant and current multi-hyphenate within his estate Athiththan Selvendran shares: “It’s his whole journey, and we want to make sure that people remember and see and are able to be present within that world of what he created. The power that [his work] has is for everyone—any single person who has some sort of creative energy.”
Though footwear encompasses just a small slice of Abloh’s ouevre, there’s little doubt that this will double as a launching pad for the expected Holiday releases under his name.
