The Asics Gel Lyte III gets a Boston Tea Party makeover from Concepts

After an initial launch at atmoscon in April and a pop-up shop event in New York City in May, VANDYTHEPINK is ready to bring its flavorful debut with ASICS to the world with the first online drop of the collaboration.

With the GEL-NIMBUS 10.1 in tow, VANDYTHEPINK continues to explore design themes inspired by brand founder Junghoon Son’s favorite American foods. With his Salomon Speedcross 3, he paid homage to the classic burger, one of his favorite order menu items upon moving to the States. Next is what typically comes after the meal — the All-American banana split dessert.

The homage is split into two colorways of strawberry (pink) and banana (yellow), with each style adhering to the classic silver tech runner aesthetic via the sport overlays. Both are paired up with off-white colored vanilla midsoles, VANDYTHEPINK logo hits via the heel tags, fuzzy “whip cream” laces, and a special shoe-box packaging to complete the overall vision. Beyond the footwear is a limited edition VANDYTHEPINK x atmos capsule, which includes a “cherry” tee and a “milkshake” tote bag.
