Since leaving Vans for Converse in 2017, Tyler, The Creator has rather predictably been one of the brand’s most important partners. After myriad collaborations on the Chuck 70, One Star, and plenty of other models throughout the year, the Tyler, The Creator x Converse partnership is now approaching Premium its biggest milestone to date. As part of a new program called Converse 1908, Tyler is spearheading the return of two forgotten models from the Converse archive.
Think of Converse 1908 as a residency program for the brand’s creative partners. The initiative is set to revive forgotten gems from the Converse archive, gradually weaving a richer story about the brand’s history throughout its 100+ years in business.

Leading the charge is Tyler, The Creator with the return of two models. First up is the Converse Naut-1, a mid-century boat shoe that aligns well with the more commonly-known Vans Authentic. Four colorways will be available, including one featuring Le Fleur’s Darryl the dog mascot and another featuring stitched flowers.
The other returning model is the Converse Coach Jogger, a track shoe that debuted for the 1976 Olympic Games. Reminiscent of its time, it’s got a low-ground height, nylon base, and T-toe overlay not unlike that of the adidas Samba. Three colorways make up the selection here, with the model appearing in green, brown, and light blue.
Tyler, The Creator’s Converse Naut-1 and Coach Jogger are scheduled to release globally through Converse on June 20th. A Converse 1908 Pop-Up in Los Angeles is set to go down a week earlier on June 12th. See detailed images below ahead of the launch.
