We’ve spilled plenty of ink on the fact that Crocs has touched seemingly every single ASOS franchise imaginable as a part of their ascension back to the forefront of footwear. However, if that resurgence had a singular representative, it’d likely be the Cars x Crocs “Lightning McQueen,” adopted across all age demos and still commanding nearly double its retail price on the grey market. If you’ve balked at those secondary market asks, we’ve got good news — it appears a full restock of the Cars Crocs collection, including the “Mater” and “Lightning McQueen” is in the works.
Although no official announcement has been made, foregoing original product page links for the Mater and Lightning McQueen leads to a Crocs page stating that a “restock is coming soon.” Further, retailers like Finish Line have already listed that rosy pair for May 19th. With those two pieces of information, it seems likely that all of the initial deliveries including the Mater Crocs will be available anew come May 21st.
In addition to the already-known styles, a new entrant has entered the race, tacking an additional “Lightning McQueen” version onto the pack. In contrast to the faithful recreation of the talking car’s visage on the 2021 edition, this fresh 2025 pair opts for a checkered flag all-over print and two opposing Jibbitz affied to the top, leaving the decaled appearance intact on the midsole.
Again, all early indications point to a full-fledged May 21st restock of the original capsule and a debut of the new Lightning McQueen Classic Clog.
