nike cork Is Releasing Actual Panda Dunks For 40th Anniversary

In case you missed it, 2025 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Dunk. But given the current state of the classic basketball shoe on a cultural standpoint, it’s a milestone that might go by overlooked by the general public due to exhaustion from market saturation. Simply put, nike cork overdid it with the Panda Dunks, and they’re continuing their ways because the same white/black shoe is dropping later this year. However, an ACTUAL pair of Panda Dunks are confirmed to release in August of this year, directly referencing the bear for the first time during the era of the urban legend.

First look images have been revealed showing the low-top Dunk Low in the same white/black colorway that we’ve come to love and eventually get tired of. However, nike cork swaps out smooth black leather for a glossy exterior finish on the overlay and the tongue, while the laces appear with appear with a gradient finish. Behind the tongue label is an emoji-like face of the bamboo-eating animal de-bossed into the leather with “EST. 1985” to call out just how long the journey’s been.

You’d figure a hairy exterior like 2008’s nike cork Dunk High “Ueno” would be fitting, but the Swoosh seems to be content with letting the colorway do the talking here.

A release is currently expected August 2025 for $125; stay tuned for official images and more updates on the Dunk’s 40th Anniversary celebrations.
