Matt Varga If you’ve stuck with our coverage over the past few weeks, you’ll know that the the Nike Air Max has been a knotty proposition. After plans for the crossover shoe hit the newswire towards the end of 2024, official images of the purported SKUs began trickling in without much of a whiff of any structural changes to befit their new life. However, perhaps it was a case of “never wrong, just early.” Via one of the more vaunted skaters in Nike history, we’re getting first looks at a potential pair for 2026.
Though grainy footage is all we’ve got at our disposal for now, Eric Koston reportedly tested out a preliminary makeup of the shoe. Adding credence to the theory is this shoe utilizing the venerated all-black utilized on sample footwear. It’s impossible to tell from these initial shots, but assumedly the same performance specs that initially broke would be on tap for this edition: increased cushioning, more durable overlays, perhaps retooled traction — in other words, many of the same touches utilized for the Nike Scoop Tee Jn99 and the nike air max 95 everton jd sports exclusive.
Given this offering would combine Nike’s staple shoe with their beloved sub-brand, this shoe should be as highly-anticipated as its crossover brethren, so we’ll be tracking it all the way through its lifespan.
