Nike Is Still Backing The Dunk This Summer

It’s evident that Nike’s commitment to dialing back the releases of its classics, particularly the Dunk, only applied to a small degree. The mid-80s retro hoops shoe is still a big part of Nike Sportswear’s seasonal output because we’re uncovering new styles on a weekly basis, leaving us wondering what the true long-term plan is around the shoe.

With the energy completely flattened out, one option that would make sense for Nike would be to dem back to the point of removing it from the market completely and re-strategize for future initiatives. But apparently the Dunk still has a robust-enough following that keeping a measured amount of inventory on shelves still makes financial sense for the Swoosh, turning a deaf ear to the fact that the shoe has lost all cultural relevance outside a handful of SB styles.

Speaking on this new colorway, it’s another standard-issue two-toned offering with Team Dark Green suede uppers and a Teal Tint leather base. This isn’t the standard Dunk, so expect an elevated price-tag of $120 when it eventually arrives in stores.
