The original-minded cut graces another OG colorway.

First Look At The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Royal”

Just how many beloved Air Jordan pairs can we pack in? Every time we feel we’ve gotten the most important updates in the category, another seminal pair is added to the docket. The latest to follow that cadence is the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Royal,” unveiled for the first time via Travis Scott confidant and DJ Chase B.

The shoe existing in the first place is essentially the biggest update – those familiar with the iconic black/blue colorway and the high-collar, OG-shaped hardware of the ’85 High could’ve imagined this pair’s profile. Once released, this would mark the first true revitalization of the “Royal” colorway since 2017, though the interstitial “Royal Reimagined” from 2023 stands a checkpoint along the way.

Though in the early days of the “High ’85” cut it was utilized for non-OG looks (“Varsity Red” and “Georgetown”), the Jumpman has clearly shifted to only utilizing that construction for true ’85 pairs. “Neutral Grey,” “Black/White” and “Metallic Burgundy” strengthen that argument, with the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” 2025 and this “Royal” pair stretching that initiative executing it into the future.

Air Jordan II Air Jordan 2 @MrUnloved1s is among the insiders to verify this pair as legitimate, but as a member of Travis Scott’s inner circle, Chase B’s word is essentially confirmation in and of itself. Myers notes that the pair will be dropping “in the future,” rather than tying down a concrete 2025 date.
