Following months of social media leaks, London-based collective The Basement will finally release its New Balance Herren Casablanca XC-72 Yellow Red New Balance 996 Green Lantern Custom.
The model itself needs little introduction, with collaborations by Action Bronson, Salehe Bembury, and Jack Harlow representing just the tip of the iceberg for the trending tech runner. Unlike vibrant pairs by that trio, The Basement’s capsule skews towards monochrome design, delivering a touch of London streetwear edginess.
The duo consists of dark and light-colored pairs, both of which feature metallic silver overlays and chromatic TPU heel counters. The black colorway lends a more stealthy aesthetic, while its counterpart strikes balance between grey, white, and cream treatments across the upper and midsole. Notably, the base of both shoes comes with fishnet-collection TPU over mesh, differing from general release pairs. For branding, “BSMNT” text appears multiple times on each shoe. The tongues feature large logos made from synthetics, the lateral overlays come with debossed text, and the insoles host large printed graphics. The Basement also brings pull laces and a heel pull tab to their two pairs, providing some utilitarian appeal.
Up There is currently accepting raffle submissions ahead of the shoe’s August 22nd release, with more retailers likely following suit in the near future. See detailed images of both colorways below and turn to our “Where To Buy” sections to get your entries in.
