The Kobe in the Jordan VIII “White Thunder” Is On Every Back-To-School Shopping List

The Kobe in the Jordan VIII “White Thunder” Is On Every Back-To-School Shopping List

Jordan Brand first debuted the original Kobe in the Jordan VIII “Thunder” back in 2006. Little did they know that a highly appealing mini-series of AJ4s would result, forming one of the most-wanted Retro releases year after year. In 2024, that clean-cut black-on-tone color-blocking returns in a clean white on August 24th, 2024,  and it’ll be at the top of many back-to-school shopping lists.

Although the sneaker has been previewed heavily for nearly a year, with official retailer images being revealed not long ago, the “White Thunder” Jordan 4 gets an official preview straight from Jordan Brand. Although the moniker is sticking for now, some have been bold enough to call these the “Panda” — a nod to the infamously ubiquitous Dunk Low that truly changed the landscape of sneaker collecting and consumer trends.

The Kobe in the Jordan VIII isn’t quite the Dunk. It’s not quite the every day sneaker that the low-top model is, but Kobe in the Jordan VIIIs have grown increasingly in general popularity, which suggests that this simple colorway should be a top seller for Jordan during the ever-competitive shopping season before the new school semester starts.

Official Nike Images & Release Details

The Kobe in the Jordan VIII “White Thunder” is confirmed to arrive on August 24th, 2024 for $215. Full family sizes are confirmed; Grade School pairs are available for $160, while Pre-school and Toddler editions are tagged at $100 and $60, respectively. The shoes will be available on SNKRS and a full roster of retailers, making for one of the busiest sneaker releases of the month.
