With a reflective adidas ultra boost uncaged unveiled last week, we’re getting the next piece of the puzzle with the upcoming “Stormtrooper” Stan Smith.
As with the aforementioned pair, Tokyo art gallery Nanzuka is a true collaborator on this pair, enlisting James Jarvis for this particular design. His stylings are immediately evident via the debossed Stormtrooper icon at the heel, the character reinterpreted in his characteristic rounded, cartoon style. Shiny leather encapsulates the upper, reflecting the radiant white armor of the Empire soldiers.
As a whole, this sneaker slides in as a rather toned down take on Lucas’ canon, but extra “Blast Them” laces give the wearer the ability to add personality to their profile. For some final conceptual touches, the tongues EH17 between Star Wars and adidas branding, while the special edition box carries similar collaborative stamps.
