Alongside investing an undisclosed sum in the brand, Federer took a hands-on approach in designing his own signature footwear, “The Roger,” which marked On’s very first set of tennis sneakers. And despite an exclusive release at KITH back in 2021, none could have predicted said line-up would receive the touch of the New York born storefront’s very own Ronnie Fieg.
“Roger and I each carry a solid work ethic and a passion for our respective crafts. We both strive to be and remain the very best at what we do. That foundation of mutual respect, regardless of our profession, led to a sense of trust with one another in the design process,” says Fieg.
“Ronnie has an immense amount of knowledge in the sneaker world and that paired with my experience in Tennis made for a great collaboration that we are both proud of,” Roger states.
Sharing the same initials, “RF,” Ronnie Fieg and Roger Federer have officially joined forces for THE ROGER RF2 Set, a two-piece package comprised of the THE ROGER Clubhouse Mid and THE ROGER Pro. The former, a brand new model packed with a slew of performance-enhancing technology, was designed by Federer himself, who has applied a clay-inspired patina to the exterior as an homage to his early career. In contrast, THE ROGER Pro — which was Fieg’s responsibility — is pristine from the outset; a bag of clay is included, however, allowing the wearer to customize the shoe to their liking.
