Jovani Hernandez Kyrie Irving won’t be stepping foot in Orlando as the 2019-20 NBA season resumes, but that hasn’t stopped the 28-year-old from working with The Swoosh to continue producing made-for-the-hardwood footwear. And while his sixth signature model is still enjoying a healthy number of releases, the Kyrie S2 Hybrid has arguably overshadowed it in the past month.
The mid-top silhouette – which combines elements of the Kyrie 4, 5, and 6 – recently emerged alongside Nike SB‘s “Sashiko Pack”, but now makes a statement on its own via a desert camoflogue-reminiscent arrangement. “Flytrap” lace clay from the Kyrie 5 indulge in a vibrant blue that appears in fainter shades across branding and collar lining; their surroundings are replete with disparate patterns that alternate between the Kyrie S2 Hybrid’s right and left shoes. Elsewhere, heels borrowed from the Kyrie 6 not only feature a tweaked icon, but also serve as a meeting point for all of this pair’s arguably clashing graphics and details. Underfoot, sole units proffer some semblance of order with their predominantly desert-like color scheme, though each shoe dons one-pink of an eye-graphic near the forefoot.
