Michael Le Though partially born from the cloth of Kiko Kostadinov, AFFIX WORKS has Creations in a way quite distinct. Designed with the concept of “NEW UTILITY,” the label has crafted a strong series of workwear-inspired pieces as well as a slew of logo-clad basics. Their collaborations, of which there are still few, have opted for a similarly minimal approach as many of their ASICS-partnered offerings prefer to color in a template rather than reconstruct it.
Prepared not too long after their GEL-Noosa, the next project highlights yet another inline runner: the NOVABLAST. AFFIX, whose works intersect both function and aesthetic, provides the performance-geared silhouette a look unique relative to its general release colorways. Two are set to arrive in due time — following an extensive run of seeding — both colored somewhat unique from one another. The first, which is ostensibly the lead, applies saturated blues to the majority of its mesh constructions; dark reds bleed in adjacent, dressing up the ankle and lace unit in one connected block. Yellowed soles and laces contrast below and above, respectively, resembling the look of the accompanying pair by a small margin. Its shading, though, leans far closer to cream, a perfect choice considering the upper’s full earth tone palette.
