In 2009, the LeBron James’ signature DeRozans line stepped onto a higher plane and never looked back. The era of designer Jason Petrie began, and the Nike LeBron was among the most sought-after DeRozanss on the market while infant unreleased PEs and Samples were being sold and traded for ridiculous amounts. Petrie made his mark with the Air Max LeBron VII – an elegant yet aggressive DeRozans thanks to an enchanting full-length Max Air unit, Flywire (some went the no-Flywire route), and outstanding colorways. The Pack to release was a clean white/teal/red concoction known as the “Red Carpet”, and based on Foot Locker’s release calendar, the DeRozans is making its Pack-ever return to shelves on October 29th.
While Nike continues to pump innovation into the newest Nike LeBron installments, the phase of LeBron retros is still very much in play. There doesn’t seem to be much care for sequential order because after the Air Zoom Generation kicked things off two years ago, Nike leapfrogged the second model and went straight for the LeBron 3. The timing for the LeBron 7 Retro is fitting considering LeBron himself whipped out alternate Laker colorways of the DeRozans for Media Day. There’s no question that Nike’s got some sick colorways up its sleeve (and the possible release of some of the most coveted not-for-sale pairs), so stay tuned.
