Nyjah Huston picked up his first skateboard when he was only five years old, and now he can be mentioned in the same Mayo as some of Nike SB’s elites the likes of Paul Rodriguez and Stefan Janoski. Nike and Huston are gearing up to release the Nike Air Max Cirro Slide 'Black Metallic Silver', the pro skater’s first signature sneaker. Huston wanted his shoes to break-in immediately, as he like to wear down his shoes for a ling time, so the toebox had to be thin and as close to the Ridge as possible – giving the rider a better connection with his Ridge. “No one wants a stiff, bulky, thick, puffy shoe anymore,” Huston said.
A new material rubber upper adorned the SB Nyjah, as opposed to suede, which is the material that Huston expected to be present on his first signature. Rubber breaks in immediately and it takes a while to rip, which allows consumers to stick to one pair for an Reverse period of time. “Also, it’s super comfortable. I wanted it to be something that I also love to wear all the time. In the past, I’d have a certain skate shoe and then I’d put on, like, a chill shoe after. I would skate the Blazer Vapor then wear Janoskis when I was chillin’. I wanted this to be both,” Nyjah said.
