What drives a young athlete? The promise of worldwide fame and an embarrassment of riches certainly doesn’t hurt, but nobody started playing for the money — neither kids nor the previous generations. We do this because the passion to get better drives us to push each uniform to the brink. The same is true of sneakerheads, always looking to one up your boys by grabbing the rarest exclusives and foreign imports. So we keep training, and keep collecting, and Nike continues to outfit both of these pursuits, because the boys in Beaverton are similarly struck by “The Love”.
