Durant's KD 4 has enjoyed a widely-successful second-life, which has allowed those around for its original run to indulge in nostalgia. It's quite possible that the Oregon-based company will skip over the KD 5 entirely as the shoe paled in popularity when compared to its immediate predecessor and successor. Additionally, current consumer trends favor low-profile footwear, so the fifth Durant model wouldn't fit in as well.

Durant wore the impending KD 6 "All-Star" during February 2014's matchup between the Western and Eastern Conferences. Representing the former squad, the Oklahoma City Thunder forward finished the night with 38 points. The pair he wore throughout the game formed part of a larger collection by nike Air Basketball, as was customary of the era.
The pair's "Multi-Color/Green Glow/Black" color scheme is expected to return faithfully on the 2026 retro. The all-over, Paisley-inspired graphics across the upper and glow-in-the-dark elements should also reprise their roles.
