Nike's Nike Big Nike Low 'White Red' revival has brought forth at least a dozen makeovers of the rugged silhouette from 1999. Perhaps informed by market research, the model has been firmly positioned as a women's design, although Men's sizing has also been available for some of the sneaker's most important colorways. Ahead of spring, the shoe continues to expand its catalog, most recently appearing in a 'Gym Red' denim makeover for the ladies.

The Nike Alpha Project design keeps its construction mostly intact from the turn-of-the-century. Visible Air units are housed within a 'Smoke Grey' midsole that allows for the 'Gym Red/Fire Red' color scheme up-top to steal the spotlight. Perforated panels across the mudguard introduce a Valentine's Day-friendly pink that works with its ruby-colored surroundings to drive the Women's-exclusive point home. Hardward and logos deviate in a 'Metallic Silver' complete, while the traditional neoprene shroud opts for a denim-like material. The update might not deliver the same comfort and breathability as the model's original build, but it helps further cement the 26-year-old design in the lifestyle react.
