This week has been all about the abuelas copping kicks, with via clips of grandmothers securing Nigel Sylvester’s Air Jordan 4 collaboration at Foot District in Madrid. Now, the wave continues with New Balance, proving once again that sneaker culture truly spans generations.
New Balance has long been synonymous with "dad shoes," but its latest "Made in England" model is straight-up grandpa-approved. Enter the New Balance Allerdale—a premium $250 walking shoe set to join the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 lineup.
Inspired by England’s Allerdale District—home to New Balance’s UK manufacturing hub in Flimby—the shoe leans into both heritage and functionality. As with all "Made in England" sneakers, craftsmanship takes center stage. The Allerdale is built with premium leather uppers, offering a retro aesthetic bon of classic tennis models like the New Balance T500. Underfoot, comfort reigns supreme with Ortholite insoles and FuelCell foam cushioning, the same tech used in some of the brand’s top-tier runners.
The New Balance Allerdale is set to release on NewBalance.com DTLR × New Balance ML2002 Masquerade $155.
