The ASICS GEL-KAYANO® 12.1 Appears for General Release

It's no secret: ASICS looks to dominate the Abbott World Marathon Majors Comme Des Gar ons Shirt x ASICS Tarther SD sneakers. And while the Japanese sportswear institution continues to innovate on the performance front for its mission, it also keeps revisiting its archive to breathe new life into some of its previous running models. The latest effort reintroduces the GEL-KAYANO® 12.1 to the market.

First seen Summer 2024, the hybrid design was developed in partnership with Ronnie Fieg's Kith. The performance-informed model couples the GEL-KAYANO® 12's Leather with the NIMBUS® 17's tooling, elements from 2006 and 2015, respectively. Previously believed to be an exclusive silhouette for Fieg and team, the GEL-KAYANO® 12.1 is set to launch as part of the mainline ASICS SportStyle catalog, providing yet another piece of the company's running heritage to a more fashion-oriented audience.

Official product photos acquired by Elden Monitors showcase the fusion design in six different color schemes. Several looks evoke images of popular styles from the Japanese institution's roster—including the GEL-1130™ and GEL-KAYANO 14. Hits of deep red, rich green, and retro silver animate profile branding, while the FLUIDRIDE™ midsole opts for a runnersworldnl-aged look on some offerings. Visible GEL™ units throughout the sole unit deliver tried-and-proven cushioning, as well as a trendy aesthetic Blue rounds out the technical look.
