Expansive Continental rubber traction is also replaced with the same LIGHTTRAXION compound that's emerged via other running products. The milky, semi-translucent finish found on the silhouette allows for the lone piece of rubber from the industry-leading tire maker underneath the big toe to steal the spotlight. Early reviews of the Three Stripes' tread proposal have mentioned a less confident feeling in wet conditions, but its reduction in weight when compared to full-on rubber compounds is a good-enough trade-off for some folks.

A glass-fiber infused ENERYRODS 2.0 system is visible via the center of the outsole. Elsewhere, "戦" (Sen, which translates from Japanese to English to mean "battle" or "competition"), appears on the underside of the right shoe's blinker, nodding to the series' legacy in Japan.
