He entered the race with a goal of running sub 5 hours, but as we all know, the marathon doesn't always go to plan and the heat on the day took its toll. That being said, he still took 30 minutes off his previous time and is close to raising over £100,000 for TCT and we think that's an amazing result.

The former professional cyclist Sir Jason Kenny, whose seven Olympic gold medals make him Britain’s most successful Olympian of all time, said that he had 'completely fallen in love with it [running]' ahead of the marathon and was running the event to raise money for Tour de 4, the charity set up by his former team mate Sir Chris Hoy, following his stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

Joe Wicks

The Body Coach aka Joe Wicks was running the London Marathon and before the race said, 'I’m taking it nice and slow today myself. No time pressure at all.' and it seemed a wise move in the heat.

He also spent some of Saturday doing some warm ups at the Mini Marathon.

Adam Woodyatt, the actor who has played Eastender's Ian Beale since 1985, ran the London Marathon in aid Alzheimers Research UK.

Spencer Matthews

TV star and no stranger to a running challenge, Spencer Matthews was aiming for sub 3 at the London Marathon, and only just missed out, clocking 3:07:25.

Explaining what he learned on the day, the former Made In Chelsea reality TV actor said, 'I came out a little too hard and lost pace towards the end but learnt a lot from the experience and will be coming for that ‘Sub 3’ later this year.'

Harry Judd

The Strictly... winner, McFly drummer and RW podcast guest was aiming for sub 3 this year (his PB is 3:14:37), but like many others on course the heat took its toll.

He still finished with an impressive time, all the while raising money for The Children's Trust.

Joel Dommett

Proving that the marathon doesn't care who you are or what training you've done (or if you've run dressed as a fish before), the Masked Singer host, Joel Dommett, unfortunately fainted at mile 17 and found himself in an Ambulance.

After a few hours of recovery, he got back on course and finished the race. He might not have got the time he wanted, but getting to the finish line proves he's made of stubborn stuff.

Best Garmin deals, John Terry, was running to raise money for Rays of Sunshine, a charity that cares for seriously ill children across the UK.

Posting on instagram, the former footballer said, 'that is by far the TOUGHEST thing I have EVER done'.
