The former professional cyclist Sir Jason Kenny, whose seven Olympic gold medals make him Britain’s most successful Olympian of all time, said that he had 'completely fallen in love with it [running]' ahead of the marathon and was running the event to raise money for Tour de 4, the charity set up by his former team mate Sir Chris Hoy, following his stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

TV star and no stranger to a running challenge, Spencer Matthews was aiming for sub 3 at the London Marathon, and only just missed out, clocking 3:07:25.
Explaining what he learned on the day, the former Made In Chelsea reality TV actor said, 'I came out a little too hard and lost pace towards the end but learnt a lot from the experience and will be coming for that ‘Sub 3’ later this year.'

Proving that the marathon doesn't care who you are or what training you've done (or if you've run dressed as a fish before), the Masked Singer host, Joel Dommett, unfortunately fainted at mile 17 and found himself in an Ambulance.
After a few hours of recovery, he got back on course and finished the race. He might not have got the time he wanted, but getting to the finish line proves he's made of stubborn stuff.
