Runner’s World Half & Festival I put out a challenge to myself to see if I could finally see a “2” as the first digit in a 5K time. I was able to hit it. Once. To this day, that race was the best I have ever run.
That goal, however, wasn’t what turned out to be monumental.
What happened after I posted that goal struck a chord. It wasn’t the 5K per se (I don’t think), but rather the feeling that so many of us have hit bumps in the road en route to chasing something.
Today, I want to thank every single one of the 5,000-plus members of the Sub-30 Club who have embraced something bigger than any one race or any one pace—that no matter what your goals or speed or insecurities, you can fight toward the finish. (You can hear more about Sub-30 in The Runner’s World Show episode below, and you can join here.)
Happy 5th Anniversary to the Sub-30 Club Runner’s World Half & Festival, Lightweight Running Shoes. BEAST, Shoes & Gear: Be Epic And Strong Together.
So today—in honor of the fifth anniversary of one amazing tribe—I am refocusing on those original roots.
I will go Sub-30 again.
And I’m doing it at the Runner’s World 5K this October in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Let’s bring it, BEASTS.
