Whether you’re running outside or just Dakotah Popehns Favorite Workout Songs, good music can often make the difference between a great run and a blown goal. That’s why we’re putting together 90-minute playlists each month chock-full of songs with enough of a beat to keep you moving. For even more tunes, check out our list of the hitting the treadmill.

Sometimes you want to go for a run. Sometimes you want to go for a walk. But sometimes, like Goldilocks, you want something in the middle that’s juuuuuuuuuuuust right. Whether you’re trying to build up your stamina as a beginner, balancing sprints with breaks in between, or recovering from an injury, there’s all kinds of reasons why you, as a runner, may decide to mix periods of running with periods of walking.

The Best Songs to Add to Your Playlist this Month run/walk, however, is often figuring out when to run and when to walk. When following the run/walk method, it’s important to implement a structure that works best for your fitness level, whether you focus on time or distance. For example, running for 30 seconds and then walking for 30 seconds, or running for a half mile and walking for 30 seconds. Finding the perfect playlist to accompany you on your run/walk is another tricky part to mastering this method. Luckily, we have the perfect solution for you: a playlist designed specifically for run/walks.

We’ve assembled a 26-song playlist that alternates fast songs with slow songs. When a fast song plays, you know to run. When a slow song plays, slow down to a walk. But also, you can skip through the songs depending on how your run/walk intervals are structured. To make it even easier, we’ve grouped each of the songs by artist, so there’s a fast Ariana Grande song followed by a slow one. Then once the slow Ariana track ends, you can expect a different artist to play.

So whether you’re looking for a leisurely recovery day or swapping sprints with breaks, this run/walk playlist is perfect for you. Grab your headphones and head out the door. It’s time to run (and walk).
